This sale features a 1935-A North Africa .00 Silver Certificate STAR NOTE.
During World War II, the government issued currency with a yellow seal for North Africa distribution (and currency with a brown seal for Hawai’i distribution). The idea was that if these areas fell into enemy hands during the war, the money could easily be identified and cancelled so as to prevent large monetary losses.

This crisp note from the ultra-rare “F-C” block of the popular "Hawai'i" brown seal 1935-A series has minimal to light rounding and wear on all 4 corners.  There are 3 heavy vertical creases, a heavy horizontal crease near the middle, and lesser creases, folds, and light wrinkling throughout.  The bill shows good overall color, but there is a brown stain above Washington’s portrait and visible on both front and back.  There is some additional rust-colored staining at the very top of the top margin to the right of center.  The total affected area from all the discoloration is smaller than the yellow seal.  Beyond these imperfections, you have a decent old STAR NOTE from a very popular series, with a bold yellow seal and no holes, tears, rough edges, or missing pieces.
